THE FIRST DEMONSTRATIVE EXERCISE IN THE CENTRE FOR SIMULATIONS AND DISTANCE LEARNING

The head of the Command Specialized Training of the Armed Forces of the Republic of France, Brigadier Jean-Luc Friedling visited Military Academy and attended the first demonstrative exercise in the Centre for Simulations and Distance Learning.

The head of the Military Academy, Brigadier Mladen Vuruna PhD emphasized the importance of forming the Centre for Simulations not only for the Academy but for the Army of Serbia as well.
- Although we haven’t had the opportunity to come across this system of simulations, I am convinced that the Centre will raise the level of education and training of the officers in the entire Army of Serbia, added General Vuruna.

Having expressed his gratitude, General Friedling wanted to familiarize himself better with the joint combat arms system of military education in the Republic of Serbia.
- I think that we have things to learn from each other, especially because we have to deal with the  impending reform of the education system ourselves in the direction of grouping and joint combat arms organization, said General Friedling.

Alongside general Friedling in the delegation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of France were Lieutenant-Colonel Lionel Hervier, the head of “JANUS” centre in the Command Specialized Training of the Armed Forces of the Republic of France and the Republic of France defence envoy in Belgrade Colonel Pascal Art.

- The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of France donated software “JANUS” to the Military Academy and provided the necessary staff training which enabled formation of the Centre for Simulations and Distance Learning.

The exercise which the delegation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of France attended today represents an elaborate simulation of the scenario for the final exercise of the cadets of the Military Academy “the Graduate 2010” and it is the first exercise organized in the Centre for Simulation and Distance Learning of the Military Academy.

The exercise was realized by over 30 players, among who were the officers of the 56th class of the Command Specialized Training of The National Defense School and cadets in their final year at Military Academy in the roles of battalion commandants, squad and platoon commanders, as well as non-commissioned officers and military clerks in the roles of operators. Exercise executive was Colonel Velimir Kevac, and seniors of the Armed Forces of the Republic of France helped in the preparation, execution and realization of the exercise.
