LAST TAKE OF THE SERIES “MILITARY ACADEMY”

Last take of television series "Military Academy", written by Gordan Mihic and directed by Dejan Zecevic, was taken last night at the Military Academy in Belgrade. The last take was attended by Defence Minister Dragan Sutanovac, managing director of RTS Aleksandar Tijanic and Head of the Military Academy, Brigadier General Mladen Vuruna with associates who wholeheartedly assisted during the fourteen months of filming the series.

Speaking about the inspiration for the creation of a television series with a specific theme from the life of male and female cadets at the Military Academy, Sutanovac revealed some interesting details related to its origins.

- At a meeting with Mr Garic, executive producer of the series, 18 months ago, we talked about making a great project of marking the centennial of the Battle on Cer, and the great victory of the Serbian army in World War I, and we ended meeting with the idea of making a series "Military Academy", the last take of which was taken today - said the defense minister expressing hope that the television audience will have the opportunity to watch the series about remarkable young people who chose to study at the Military Academy.

According to him, the idea was to promote the military calling, but also to restore the confidence of young people in the military profession.

- We have managed so far to do so, and I think this series will contribute to having a record number of top candidates for the military academy- said Sutanovac expressing gratitude to everyone who took part in the project.

The Head of the Military Academy, Brigadier General Mladen Vuruna on this occasion said that he was sorry that the cooperation had come to an end, expressing the hope that they would work on new joint projects.

- We are very proud to have a series on the Military Academy and that the life of cadets is presented exactly as we wanted it – as a school which admits hard working young people of whom we make the future officers of the Army of Serbia. We learned a lot from the cast, and I hope you have learned from us as well during this unusual collaboration of artists and military-as general Vuruna pointed out congratulating the cast and the whole crew.

According to the series executive producer Nebojsa Garic, during more than 130 days of shooting, the atmosphere was great.

- During the 16 episodes we will see more than 140 actors, which is a curiosity - Garic said, expressing gratitude to the employees at the Military Academy and the Ministry of Defence, in particular to Minister Sutanovac without whose enthusiasm the idea would not have been achieved.

The series "Military Academy" was done under the auspices and with the help of the Ministry of Defense, the Military Academy and all its members, and produced by "Nire Pro" comany for Radio-Television Serbia.

Life of male and female cadets of the Military Academy will be shown in 18 one-hour episodes based on true characters and events, starring Ljubomir Bandovic, Nebojsa Milovanovic, Branislav Lecic and Milos Timotijevic as well as Voja Brajovic, Dara Dzokic, Mira Banjac, Vlasta Velisavljevic and many others.
