Visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Greece
Delegation of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Greece, headed by the Director of the International Relations Directorate, Commodore Alexandros Diakopoulos, visited the Military Academy in Belgrade.
The Commandant of the Military Academy, Major General Mladen Vuruna, received the guests from Greece and gave a presentation on the teaching facilities of the institution he heads. The presentation was followed by examining the possibilities of further improving cooperation in the field of military education. Members of the Greek delegation then met with a Greek officer who attends 58th class of the General Staff Course and visited the classroom for learning Greek.
The classroom for learning Greek in the Department for Foreign Languages at the Military Academy, which was equipped with the funds the Republic of Greece donated in 2002, has repeatedly been modernized. As a place where students attend courses in Greek language, it has become the venue for creating links between the two armed forces and the two peoples, which is contained in the symbolic name of the classroom – “Riga od Fere” (Rigas Feraios or Rhegas Pheraeos).
