Aleksandar Kukolj takes second place at World Judo Championship




Civilian employee Aleksandar Kukolj, a member of the Military Academy’s Sports Unit, took second place in the -100 kg category at the World Judo Championship for seniors, which is organized by the World Judo Federation and is being held from 6 to 13 June in Budapest.
In the semi-final match, Kukolj defeated Canadian Shady Elnahas, and in the final match, after a great fight, he lost the match to the world champion and third place winner at the European Championship, Portuguese Jorge Fonseca.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, congratulated Aleksandar on his success.

Congratulations on a great success, Aleksandar!" Minister Stefanović wrote on his Facebook account.

With this result, Aleksandar Kukolj has confirmed that he belongs to the world class and moved higher in the global rankings. This success has brought him closer to his ultimate goal, participation in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
