Laboratory

Besides being an educational institution, the Military Academy is also an accredited scientific research institution in which the scientific work of the teachers, associates, cadets and students takes place and is evaluated in numerous basic, developmental and applied research projects in the field of technological sciences and social sciences and humanities.

There are four laboratories and centres in the structure of the Dean's Office:
  • Laboratory for Military Electronic Systems.
  • Laboratory for Mechanical Systems and Logistics Engineering.
  • Laboratory for Ordnance and CBRN.
  • Research Centre in the field of the Defence Logistics.
The purpose of the Laboratory for Military Electronic Systems is raising the level of knowledge of the members of the Military Electronic Engineering and Telecommunication and IT Departments in the areas of interest for the Serbian Armed Forces and transfer of that knowledge to the cadets at undergraduate studies, to other members of the Serbian Armed Forces attending other levels of military education and training at the Military Academy, as well as to the users who are not within the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.

The Laboratory equipment is grouped into functional units according to the respective fields:
  • Missile Guidance and Control Systems, Fire Control Systems and Sensors, Sensor Systems and Multi-Sensor Incorporating of Information;
  • Signal Processing in Radar Systems;
  • Measuring of Radar Antennas and Targets;
  • Analysis of the Integrated Telecommunication Systems and Decision Support Systems in the Armed Forces.Laboratory for Mechanical Systems and Logistics Engineering is a scientific research laboratory of the Military Academy where the basic and applied research in the field of mechanical engineering is carried out. The focus of research is put on research of armament and motor vehicles, as well as on interdisciplinary research in the field of logistics engineering, mechatronics and management of the armament and military equipment life cycle.
The Laboratory is equipped with the measuring and testing equipment for different sorts of testing which require the measuring of force, pressure, shift, speed, acceleration, angular speed etc. The Laboratory equipment enables laboratory road tests of motor vehicles, testing the suspension system, diagnostics of modern motor vehicles etc. As for the research in the field of armament, internal and external ballistics, as well as laboratory testing of the vehicle subsystems, the Laboratory uses the facilities of the Military Technical Institute, Technical Test Centre and other laboratories within the defence system.
The Laboratory for Ordnance and CBRN Protection has been formed in order to enhance the influence of science and technology upon the entire development of the defence system, to connect scientific research activities with the needs of the defence system development more efficiently through scientific research projects, to intensify the scientific research defence cooperation with the universities and institutes and to develop the scientific research youth.

The Research Centre in the field of the Defence Logistics organizes scientific research, educational and expert activities in the field of Defence Logistics Management. The Centre is the intellectual base for continuous multidisciplinary work on research of the defence logistics and national logistics. The Centre also cooperates with other academic and scientific research centres and institutions at home and abroad which deal with research and education in the field of the defence logistics and national logistics.
